So now that the Empress has declared taint intolerable again. What is going to happen to Daigotsu and his son?

We've been chatting about this at my local group. We think that most of the Lost/Tainted Spider are going to die and that the untainted will end up following Yoritomo/Daigotsu Hotako. Where not sure if Kanpeki is actually tainted though, could someone fill me in on this?
Daigotsu though, we think that he'll go into hiding. Your going to need someone pretty damn good to kill him. And Noritoshi's busy dealing with some upstart...

It will be nice to have the lost back in their old role. I liked it when you always had to worry about the tainted popping up anywhere you don't want them too. I do love the spider but think that the taint has been too prevalent in the general populace.

I remember when bloodspeakers were around because they were mad for power and the oni were interested in spreading the taint. Lately its been all about tainting people and less about the power. Well regardless it will be nice to see the world settle down for a little while at least.

I think we all know what's going to happen to Big D, and Kanpakei (or whatever name he's entitled that little abomination), as well as ALL other tainted Spider Clan (pardon, FORMER Spider Clan) mmbers... DEATH.

Let Yajinden, and The Obsidian Champion (or whatever it's called) collect up what's left, and run away either back to the Shadowlands, behind their wall of bones to bide their time, and plot... OR they'll end up in the North, and perhaps give readers an insight to this FIRE that is a LIE (?!?!?!)...

As long as their OUT of my beloved Empire I'm ok with them continuing to exsist, heck without them trhe Crab would have to start like bartending, or landscaping on the weekends for something to do... and that's no good.

All ribbing aside I do hope that the Spider (as well as Diago, and the Shogun) get some good story time out of this... and more importantly die (though, not the Shogun or Daigo).

one theory that's been kicked around between me and my friends is, the taint became a gift when Daigotsu formed the spider clan. (similarly to KYD) those proven loyal to big-D and Fu Leng were given the gift of the taint to make them stronger and better able to serve. If Fu Leng has the control over Jigoku it's said he has, and Big-D has the faith it's said he has......what if Daigtsu asked to have the best and the brightest's taint removed? to make the sacrifice in service to his god, and stumble ahead without a literal representation of his blessing? anyway...its just a theory we have.

kanpeki is most certainly tainted.
it says so on his card.

Just gonna ask it here rather then in every post I've seen it so far.

Why in the blazes does everybody seem to think that the focus will be on the pure and untainted of us?

Going by one of Shawn's posts on the main AEG forum it seems more likely that our path is currently in the opposite direction

Mainly because the Voice (I love calling him that now) said that all who carried Jigoku's mark on their boduies or souls would be killed... effectivley.

What I thought that Shawn was getting at was that it's the really nasty (tainted) members of the Spider that were going to be showing up in the CCG, because they were going to be the ones that were being hunted-down, erradicated. Thus, they would show up in the card game as theirs was the area of interest among the spider.

I don't think the Shogun will be sparing any Spiders considering the minor fact that he can't actually detect if people are tainted >.> More a case of 'kill them all and let the fortunes sort them out' i think

Tho i do see some problems for the poor shogun considering the fact that the Empress allowed/told Susumu to warn/tell Daigotsu/the spider clan about what was going to happen to them.

So not only will that mean that we are prepared for the Shogun, but we will likely also have removed some of the most important stuff by the time he arrives(main question for me is if we will be awaiting him with troops or if we will simply fade into the shadows and all he finds is an abandoned place

Daigotsu and Kanpeki (the name speaks of his pride; naming his son "perfect/complete") are going to become abruptly cooler as they become the underdogs in a fight against a world that hates them.

I hypothesize that iweko will have a daughter and then iweko's daughter will be married to daigotsu's baby thus reinstating the hantei dynasty and thus demonstrating the wisdom of the heavens... now just to work out the taint problem with my theory. maybe the boy is fostered to the crane and the daimyo uses one of hantei's tears. or maybe the boy is purged of the taint by sun...

I am still wondering if Kanpeki is even tainted. By all reasoning he should be but the could have set up another taint withholding like when Daigotsu returned from the realm of waiting.

This intrigues me... The boy wowuld need to be captured before his environment warps him but I think the Crane found one of Lady Doji's Tears as a Kotei choice. Of course the Spider would fight very hard aginst this understandably.
